On Poetry and Visual art being at Cross purposes.

Writing poetry and painting are (for me ) at times , at cross purposes. I am working furiously on small colored inks right now as salable adjuncts to the large paintings , I’ll have in P’s Gallery at Longview opening October 2nd. The problems of composition , color ,placement of forms are ‘wordless’  apparitions directing my actions making me like an animal , no longer self aware. Poetry is , if anything ,about awareness , of both self and world. It explores that consciousness , penetrates the mysteries laid out by the senses by transcending the senses , while simultaneously using them to get at  “it” which would be what Poe called “A glimpse of the ineffable”. Consequently , writing is difficult for me right now . I am operating in the art sphere without language.       Joshua Kight , September 23rd , 2010

Burndog — Your blog is totally chnirmag. I’m not chnirmag at all. And I actually am boring. But it’s fine, because enough people like me as it is. If I was any less boring, too many people would try to talk to me, and I might become an even bigger hermit in response. Mike — Haha I don’t know what you’re talking about. Every single day we’ve spent together has been absolutely riveting.
