She and I

She and I

She spills the beans
She washes machines
She teleports to mountain resorts
She keeps her council and preens

I watch her behind
I see it all blind
I bite the curious making them furious
I am caught in her bind.

She tells me what to do
She over-flows the stew
She leaves the kitchen cussin’ and bitchin’
She pushes back against the blue

I drift in to space
I run the silent race
I walk and mutter amidst the cosmic clutter
I move at an uneven pace

She sees my warts
She docks in my ports
She sings out of tune and barks at my moon
She consorts with all sorts in courts.

I need her in the worst way
I give her all my pay
I sing a clunky tune and bark at her moon
I still smile at the close of the day.
